Nicole Brar provides fitness training, yoga instruction, cooking classes and nutrition coaching all in virtual reality. Aiming to make her mark on the health and fitness industry in a big way, Nicole is creating her own brand of VR fitness instruction.
At the height of the pandemic in 2020, gyms across the country were temporarily closed to meet current CDC guidelines. Nicole Brar, and thousands of other people striving to achieve their health and fitness goals, had to find a new way to workout. With even public parks closed in many areas, crafting a gym-free workout routine became more difficult than ever. Rather than accepting the defeat of demotivation, Nicole turned this situation around into one of motivation by getting creative. In a time when everyone felt so alone and disconnected from each other, not being able to workout together was less about the gym atmosphere and more about the human connection. So Nicole decided to set out to solve that problem by creating a program that would allow her to connect with her clients again — just not in-person (for now). That solution is what has turned into Nicole Brar Virtual Reality (VR) Fitness!
What is Virtual Reality (VR) Fitness?
Virtual reality fitness, or VR fitness, is a rising new platform for working out. Fully immersive, VR fitness is an upgrade from the traditional follow-along workout video tutorials. By wearing virtual reality equipment, the participants involved in the workout are able to accurately follow along with the instructor, in real time. It’s essentially a combination of a workout class and a video tutorial. Nicole Brar has been participating in virtual reality fitness classes since the release of the Oculus, one of the most popular VR headsets on the market. At the height of the pandemic, when communication felt like a lost art, the opportunity to join other people in a workout (from the comfort of her own home) amazed Nicole. Now, she utilizes this platform in her own fitness training programs, which are now available exclusively in VR!
